You are really well prepared!」

Introduction
Those first two or three minutes of an interview—when the interviewer says, “Can you briefly introduce yourself?”, are often the most decisive moments of the entire process. This short introduction does more than help the interviewer understand who you are; it is your opportunity to showcase your personality, professional identity, communication style, and whether you align with the brand’s values and team culture.
Beyond your CV or portfolio, many companies place strong emphasis on questions like: “Does this person fit our brand culture?”, “Would this person work well with the team?”. Your self-introduction is the first moment where all of this is being evaluated.
In addition to a standard verbal introduction, I strongly recommend preparing a mini pitch deck—a concise self-intro presentation of no more than six slides. With well-chosen visuals, keywords, and consistent design, you will instantly stand out from other candidates and clearly demonstrate your preparedness, professionalism, and genuine interest in the role.
Based on both my own experience and the experiences of colleagues and friends who have tried this approach, this method consistently earns responses like: “Wow! You are really well prepared!”. And in my case, this format has contributed to a near-perfect interview success rate.
In this article, I’ll walk you through the 6-slide self-introduction deck that I’ve refined over many years of interviewing across various industries and companies in Europe and the US—an approach that has proven highly effective time and time again✨ (Make sure to read until the end to download the template!)
❓ Why Your Self-Introduction Matters
Your opening introduction sets the tone for the entire interview.
A strong introduction helps the interviewer:
Quickly understand who you are
Sense your communication and logical thinking
See your professionalism and how prepared you are
Assess whether you fit the brand culture and team dynamics
A simple slide deck can make your introduction more structured, memorable, and visually coherent—an especially valuable advantage in design-related or creative positions.
📇 The 6-Slide Interview Intro Deck
After years of interviewing with companies of different sizes and industries across Europe and North America, I’ve refined a 6-slide structure that is practical, effective, and consistently well-received.
This flow is designed to take 2.5 to 3 minutes, naturally connecting with the interviewer’s opening and setting a professional, approachable first impression.
Slide 1 |Warm Introduction|10s
Your name
Your current or most recent job title
The company you’re interviewing with
Interview date & round number (shows professionalism and attention to detail)
📌 Why it matters:
This slide shows respect and preparedness. It also helps the interviewer quickly anchor who you are.

Slide 2 |Who am I?|30s
Where you’re from / your background
Education (brief)
Key work experiences (only what’s relevant)
Key point:
Keep it concise and structured, your goal is to build a clear, easy-to-understand picture of who you are.

Slide 3 |What I Do / My Work Skills|60s
No long paragraphs, use keywords + visuals. For example:
CMF research
Material strategy
Trend analysis
Cross-team collaboration
Color development
Finish specification
Tip:
Keep this brief. Don’t dive into portfolio details yet—there’s usually a dedicated section for that later.

Slide 4 |Outside of Work|30s
This slide showcases your personality, your human side. Include:
Interests
Personal style
Hobbies or activities
Anything that builds a relatable personal image
Again, images + keywords are enough.

Slide 5 |Why I’m Passionate About This Role|30s
A short, sincere statement about your motivation:
Why are you excited about this role?
What attracts you to the industry?
Why are you a good fit for this team?
💡Tip: Be genuine, precise, and focused on the position you’re applying for.

Slide 6 |Closing Slide
Your name again
“Thank you for your time”
Transition smoothly into the Q&A section

✨ Conclusion
A great three-minute self-introduction isn’t simply “talking about yourself”, it is your first mini pitch.
With consistent visuals, precise keywords, and a structured narrative, you help the interviewer quickly see:
your preparation
your clarity of communication
your structured thinking
your sense of design
how much you value the opportunity
A concise mini pitch can dramatically increase your memorability and strengthen your impressions in the very first round. I hope this framework helps you present the best version of yourself in your next interview, and leave interviewers genuinely impressed.
㊗️ Good luck, and go shine 🌟
